BENFA braiders can be manufactured in any multiple of 4 carriers with the most common sizes being 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64, 72, 96, & 144-carriers; up to 288-carriers. Our machines are the workhorses for the medical industry. They are used in the production of:

• and a variety of minimally invasive applications

Vertical braiders are used for reel to reel production which minimizes clean-room space and maximizes production volumes. Horizontal braiders have the ability to overbraid rigid or solid mandrels which enables processing of discrete length pieces. Horizontal machines are also able to be used in reel to reel production.

SteegerUSA IMC-motion controlled machines enable operators to automatically configure pick count, segment length and speed. This enables our customer to produce product with designed flexibility, stiffness, kink resistance, improved torque response, and radial / hoop strength. Our carrier design, which unrolls wire from a horizontally placed bobbin, enables braiding the most tension sensitive materials without rolling or twisting. Carriers are made of a composite material equipped with a series of rollers to minimize friction and excessive tension peaks. This allows Steeger braiders to run at higher speeds with less time consuming wire breaks than our competitors. Our machines provide a platform for the customization our customers need in connection with their high tech and demanding applications.

Braiders can come equipped with an optional sound dampening enclosure that reduces noise levels and adds to overall safety. Door interlocks can shut down the braider whenever enclosure doors are opened.
