Carbon fiber braiding machine is a relatively high-end braiding machine product of this series of braiding machines. Compared with traditional braiding materials such as cotton thread and metal wire, carbon fiber braiding machine has higher technological requirements and more complicated design and manufacturing.
However, it is undeniable that compared to traditional woven materials, carbon fiber weaving has very good characteristics, and its future application prospects are broad. This is one of the reasons why Benfa Technology has always made carbon fiber weaving technology a key breakthrough direction.
Compared with traditional woven materials, what are the characteristics of carbon fiber materials?
1. Strong tensile strength
The tensile strength of carbon fiber is about 2 to 7 GPa, and the tensile modulus is about 200 to 700 GPa. The density is about 1.5 to 2.0 grams per cubic centimeter, which is mainly determined by the temperature of the carbonization process in addition to the structure of the original silk. Generally after high temperature 3000℃ graphitization treatment, the density can reach 2.0 grams per cubic centimeter. In addition, its weight is very light, its specific gravity is lighter than aluminum, less than 1/4 of steel, and its specific strength is 20 times that of iron. The thermal expansion coefficient of carbon fiber is different from other fibers, and it has the characteristics of anisotropy.
2. Small thermal expansion coefficient
The thermal expansion coefficient of most carbon fiber itself is negative indoors (-0.5~-1.6)×10-6/K, it is zero at 200-400℃, and 1.5×10-6/K when it is less than 1000℃. The composite material made of it has a relatively stable expansion coefficient and can be used as a standard weighing instrument.
3. Good thermal conductivity
Generally, the thermal conductivity of inorganic and organic materials is poor, but the thermal conductivity of carbon fiber is close to that of steel. Taking advantage of this advantage, it can be used as a material for solar heat collectors and a heat-conducting shell material with uniform heat transfer.
4. Soft and processability
In addition to the characteristics of general carbon materials, carbon fiber woven fabrics have significant anisotropic softness in appearance and can be processed into various fabrics. Because of their small specific gravity, they exhibit high strength along the fiber axis. Carbon fiber reinforced rings Oxygen resin composite materials have the highest comprehensive indicators of specific strength and specific modulus among existing structural materials.
5. Low temperature resistance
Carbon fiber has good low temperature resistance, such as not brittle under liquid nitrogen temperature.
6. Corrosion resistance
Carbon fiber has good corrosion resistance to general organic solvents, acids, and alkalis. It does not dissolve or swell. It has outstanding corrosion resistance and does not have the problem of rust.
7. Good wear resistance
Carbon fiber and metal are rarely worn when rubbing against each other. Carbon fiber is used to replace asbestos to make high-grade friction materials, which have been used as brake pad materials for airplanes and automobiles.
8. Good high temperature resistance
The performance of carbon fiber is very stable below 400°C, and there is not much change even at 1000°C. The high temperature resistance of composite materials mainly depends on the heat resistance of the matrix. The long-term heat resistance of resin-based composite materials is only about 300℃, and the high temperature resistance of ceramic-based, carbon-based and metal-based composite materials can match the carbon fiber itself. Carbon fiber composite materials are widely used in the aerospace industry as high temperature resistant materials.
9. Excellent fineness
Carbon fiber has an excellent fineness (one of the representations of fineness is the number of grams of a 9000-meter-long fiber), generally only about 19 grams, and a tensile force of up to 300 kg per micron. Few other materials have as many excellent properties as carbon fiber.
10. Poor impact resistance and easy to damage
Oxidation occurs under the action of strong acid, the electromotive force of carbon fiber is positive, and the electromotive force of aluminum alloy is negative. When carbon fiber composite materials are used in combination with aluminum alloys, metal carbonization, carburization and electrochemical corrosion will occur. Therefore, carbon fiber must be surface treated before use.
